Staff Spirit

A few weeks ago, I began working on a much longer post attempting to reflect on the year since the COVID-19 pandemic began as well as to mention some great news, which is that I was able to receive my vaccine!  Honestly though, I'm not sure how I feel about posting everything that I wrote (and it was a LOT), so I am not going to make that post yet.  Maybe someday...

March 14, 2021 marked one year and one day since my school shut down last year.  On that beautiful Sunday night, I was able to visit a vaccination center for school employees in our area and receive the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.  I am now over two weeks out from that shot, which makes me officially "Fully Vaccinated!"  It is incredible to think how far we have come in a year, in some ways.  One of my wise colleagues stated at the beginning of the pandemic that we would really just have to rely on science to get us through- at the time I was struck by the truth of that sentiment, as I continue to be one year and one COVID vaccine later.

Ready to get my shot!

This week, we had Staff Spirit week at my school, which was something different and fun.  If we dressed up in the "spirit" of the day, we were able to submit a photo of ourselves to be entered into a drawing for a gift card.  While I didn't win any of the drawings, I did appreciate the opportunity to participate!  We are definitely at a time of year where many of us are feeling burned out from the stress of this year-like-no-other, and sometimes even the little things keep you going!
